North Branford Man Charged with Threatening Stonehill College

Sterlynn Robbins was arrested for allegedly sending several threatening texts to Stonehill College student.

Sterlynn Robbins, of Wood Chase Lane in North Branford, was charged yesterday in federal court for making threats against Stonehill College via text message. He was arrested and charged in a criminal complaint with the transmission of a threat to injure the person of another.

Robbins, who was permanently dismissed from Stonehill in the spring of 2009 after being arrested on assault charges, reportedly sent 12 text messages over a half-hour to a female Stonehill student, threatening her and faculty members involved with his dismissal from the school, along with threatening to "blow it [Stonehill] up."

If convicted, Robbins faces up to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
