North Branford Police Bust Underage Drinking Party

Seven teenagers were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and one was hospitalized with alcohol poisoning in Northford over the weekend.

On Oct. 6 at 10:22 p.m., officers from the North Branford Police Department were sent to 60 Indian Hill Road in Northford regarding a large number of youth congregating in the area. Upon their arrival they observed several individuals running into the home and into the woods adjacent to the home. 

Upon investigating, information was received that the homeowners were out of state and the home should not have been occupied. Officers were met at the front door by a 16-year-old female who appeared intoxicated.  Further investigation revealed that the home contained seven highly intoxicated youth aged 16. One young male was found unconscious and was transported by ambulance to the hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning.

A total of seven youths were arrested and charged with violation of section 30-89 (possession of alcohol by minor); five were located within the residence and turned over to the custody of their parents, while the last two arrestees were found hiding in the woods directly behind the home.
