North Branford Police Department by the Numbers: March 2013

Here's a look at the breakdown of the NBPD's calls for the month of March as well as staff recognition.


Throughout the month of March, the North Branford Police Department responded to 823 incidents. The breakdown of incidents is listed below. 

  • 26 motor vehicle accidents
  • 1 motor vehicle accident with injuries
  • 182 motor vehicle stops
  • 54 motor vehicle written warnings
  • 83 motor vehicle citations/summons
  • 4 DUI arrests
  • 59 commercial and residential alarms, 59 false
  • 19 criminal arrests
  • 4 juvenile arrest
Detective Bureau
During the month of March, the NBPD's Detective Bureau was assigned 10 cases. Two were closed, leaving 19 open with 309 man hours utilized throughout the month "consisting of criminal investigations, report preparation, court, warrant service and other duties."

Staff Recognition
Corey Lemmons was certified for TASER Electronic Control Device through TASER Training Academy.

Detective Ron Onofrio, who retired on April 26, was selected as "Officer of the Month" for February 2013 for his dedication. The award stated: 

"Since Dec. 1, 1987, you have provided a service to the North Branford Police Department and to Town residents that has been recognized by your peers, supervisors and community members as admirable. Therefore, on behalf of the Police Department, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to your for your tremendous service to us for the last 25 years."
