North Branford Police Department Shuts Down Northford Drug Supplier

$6,000 worth of drugs and paraphernalia seized from Northford home.

For the past month, North Branford Police Officer Robert Deko has been leading an investigation into illegal drug sales from a Northford residence.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 7:30 p.m., NBPD’s Patrol Division executed a warrant at 33 Oxbow Ln., Northford. NBPD was assisted by members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force who supplied additional manpower as well as a narcotics detection K9.

Found and confiscated during the search of the home were the following items, with a $6,000 street value:

  • Several bags of packaged marijuana with a total weight of 210.8 grams
  • 71 15mg Oxycodone Hydrochloride tablets
  • 40 20mg Oxycontin tablets
  • 11 Amrix tablets
  • Packaging materials
  • Scales
  • Marijuana grinding equipment
  • $750 US currency
  • Three shotguns
  • One rifle

The narcotics and contraband were confined to an area of the home exclusive to the arrestee, Michael J. Derosa, 26, and no other items were located outside this area. The arrestee resides at this home with his parents and siblings. 

Derosa was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance over 4 ounces, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to keep narcotics in original container. He was held overnight at NBPD on a $50,000 cash bond and will be arraigned in court later today.
