North Branford Police on the Lookout for Huge Stolen Shed

A 10-foot by 30-foot shed was reported stolen from the Amato's property. The North Branford Police Department is asking the public to report any leads on its whereabouts.

On Sept. 8, the North Branford Police Department received a report of a large shed stolen from Amato's Restaurant property on Route 22 in Northford. Though the exact date of the theft is unknown, it is estimated to be in the previous two to three weeks.

The shed (pictured), which is approximately 10 feet by 30 feet and tan in color, reportedly contained, tools, metal shelving and restaurant equipment.

Detective Ron Onofrio is seeking any information on the theft or anyone who observed a large flatbed truck or trailer taking the shed from the property to contact him at 203-484-2703, ext. 257. All information will remain confidential.

Do you know what it takes to load / un-load a shed this size? Takes a little more then a few minutes. By the way, just my thoughts, is the shed a "rental" and possible renter is behind on payments? Just saying.

How about getting rid of the eyesore and potential hazard that fallen building. Who cares about the shed. If the "owners" did maybe they should have taken care of their property. Always a double standard for certain people.

Get a dumpster and tear the place down. Tired of looking at it!

Hi Lisa and Ssbtr: The Town Council recently approved the demolition of the building at a date to soon be determined.

Sounds like another insurance fraud case . Can so many horrible tragedies effect the same people?

If anyone saw it leaving, they were probably thinking, 'Thank God! Someone is finally cleaning the place up!'
