Santa Lights the North Branford Christmas Tree

Carols, hot chocolate and cookies add to the occasion.

On Dec. 2, Santa turned up at the . After saying hello to the many children and leading the crowd "Jingle Bells," he opened the town's holiday season by , next to the firehouse's memorial.

Prior to Santa's arrival, the North Branford High School Choir entertained the cheerful crowd of probably better than 100 people with a number of the season's favorite carols.

After the tree-lighting, everyone adjourned indoors, where they heard a few more carols, had a chance to custom make their own paper snowmen and feast on hot chocloate and Christmas cookies.

The night was rounded out by an opportunity to have one's picture taken with Santa himself.
