After the regular police commission meeting on Jan. 9, the swore in two new officers, Thomas Pacelli and Massimo Piroli. The two officers are filling the spots of , who retired in September, and , who retired in December.
As the 6 p.m. ceremony time approached, the conference room at the police department filled with family, friends and fellow officers.
Police Commission Chairman Dan Troiano first swore in Pacelli, who lives in Madison. Pacelli earned a BS in 2008 from Plymouth State University.
Vice Chairman David Palumbo then swore in Massimo Piroli, a North Haven resident. Piroli is a 2005 graduate of Johnson and Wales where he earned an associate's degree.
After the swearing in ceremonies, the new officers cut the cake and were congratulated by the many guests, including Town Manager , Mayor and Councilwoman , among many others.
The new officers begin basic recruit training at the Connecticut Police Academy on Jan. 27.
