3 Questions for Public Works Director Fran Merola: Aug. 10

Fran Merola is the director of North Branford's Public Works and shares a bit of news from the department.

The new '3 Questions' feature has been such a success that we're bringing on five more town officials, including Bonnie Therrien (interim town manager), Fran Merola (public works), Robert Hull (libraries), Luisa Breen (social services) and Judy Barron (senior center) to keep up updated on happenings in their departments.

They'll be answering the regular questions of 'What's new in your department?' and 'What's something residents should know?' and catching up on all of the 'favorites' questions, including your favorite thing about summer, favorite movie and favorite food.

North Branford Patch: What’s new in your department?

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Merola: People should be thinking about making sure their mailbox is secure and placed the proper length away from the curb. When the door of the mailbox is open it should be one foot from the curb. Unless a truck literally hits a mailbox, the town will not be replacing for repairing them.

North Branford Patch: What's your favorite food?
Merola: Ice cream.
