North Branford's park and recreation director Pam Gery talks about fall programs, the department's upcoming move and how she got her start in the working world.

Before our town officials were, well, town officials, they had other jobs. Think back to your first-ever job. Ever wonder where our town officials, like Pam Gery of the , got their start in the working world?

North Branford Patch: What's new in your department?
Gery: Residents can expect to receive our Fall/Winter Brochure in the next issue of the arriving on Sept. 6.

We have a new event that is happening in October! A Bark In the Park event to raise awareness of our  and to .  This will be on Saturday, Oct. 20 at . We are also hoping to put together a Haunting at the Augur Farms for the end of October– stay tuned for more details on that one.

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
Gery: The Recreation Department and  will be moving to Stanley T. Williams in approximately 6 to 8 months. The public needs to know that there will be on going renovations inside during the fall and winter months and may cause for some rescheduling of classes that we are currently holding in the building. We appreciate your understanding in these circumstances. 

North Branford Patch: What was your first job?
Gery: Westbrook YMCA.
