North Branford's Director of Social Services offers tips on social security accounts and eldercare programs.

 

North Branford Patch: What's new at the North Branford Department of Social Services?
Luisa Breen: Social Security Administration now offers an online account people can use to access their benefit verification letter, payment history and earnings record. You may also be able to change your address or your information regarding your direct deposit. This service will allow people to prove, through a verification letter, their income, retirement or disability status and age. This online access will make applying for programs much easier with the ability to immediatley prove information.


Luisa Breen: 
St. Lukes Eldercare Services offers a Gatekeeper Program  that assist persons over the age of 60 in need of medical, social or mental health services. If you see an individual that you think is in need, you can make an anonymous call to the Gatekeeper Program at 1.860.347.5661. A qualified caseworker will contact and assist that individual either directly or through a referral service.
