Campaign Notebook: Murphy Defends Against McMahon Ad

Democratic candidate Chris Murphy released a defense against Republican opponent Linda McMahon's current ad. Her ad accuses Murphy of being too absent in Congress during the 2008 financial crisis.

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro supports the Mine Safety and Health Administration's efforts to protect coal miners, reports The Courier-Journal. "We should now let the Mine Safety and Health Administration move forward to better protect the nation's coal miners against debilitating and fatal black lung disease caused by exposure to coal dust," she said.

This Saturday in Monroe CT there is a Huge GOP Rally being hosted by an ardent supporter of the anti-gay marriage Chick-Fil-A Corporation. Mitch Beck a Monroe Republican has purchased 100 Chick-Fili-A sandwiches which he originally intended to sell at the GOP Rally but amidst most push back from a number of equal rights activists he has decided instead to give the sandwiches away, keeping only 10 for himself and perhaps to share with a few selected haters. This GOP Rally is expecting over 500 people, attendees will include more than 30 republican candidates and elected officials. Some of the players are keynote speaker State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney. Steve Obsitnik, a Republican challenging in the 4th Congressional District race, 3rd District candidate Wayne Winsley, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, GOP Sate Assistant Minority Leader Rep. GOP Sate Toni Boucher, and State Rep. Gail Lavielle. The event is free and open to the public.
