Juror Comments Komisarjevsky 'Should Be Shot'

No jurors selected on Tuesday; jury selection continues today.

hree backup alternates remain to be picked by defense attorneys and prosecutors for the trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky, the second Cheshire home invasion defendant.

The New Haven Register reports today that one of the jury panelists Tuesday was overheard commenting that Komisarjevsky should be shot to death without a trial. The man had just been excused for financial reasons.

Komisarjevsky faces the death penalty for the triple homicide of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, aggravated by kidnapping, arson, robbery, assault and sexual assault of the mother and the younger daughter.

No jurors were selected Tuesday or Monday, and defense lawyers and prosecutors are close to running out of peremptory challenges, which may be used to excuse jurors the attorneys feel would not be impartial.
