North Branford Schools Closed Tuesday, Feb. 12; Update from Town

In addition to the schools, both libraries, the Community Center and Senior Center will also remain closed; plus updates on trash, safety and more.

 

The Blizzard of 2013 continues wreak havoc on the North Branford School District's school calendar. Tomorrow's cancellation marks the third snow day resulting from Friday's snowstorm.

These snowdays have pushed the district past its allotted number of snow days built into the calendar, which means April vacation will now run from Monday, April 15 to Wednesday, April 17 with school in session on Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19.

As a reminder, due to four hurricane weather days and one snow day in November, North Branford .

The North Branford Emd's latest Facebook post said: "Schools in North Branford will be closed Tuesday, as will both Libraries and the Community Center. Stay safe and exercise caution driving with all the mounds of snow. Remember to check the vents of your direct venting furnaces. Make sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors."

Here's the latest update from the Town of North Branford:

The Town of North Branford has the following update on the Blizzard of 2013:

  1. The Schools, Libraries, Parks & Recreation and Senior Center will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 12
  2. Make sure you have a C.O. Detector in case there is a buildup of carbon monoxide
  3. Make sure vents are cleared out for your furnace
  4. Be extremely careful at all intersections due to high snow banks. Pull at slowly.
  5. Check your roof and try to remove the snow. If you hear cracking or popping noises, call the Building Department at 203-484-6008.
  6. Trash will start being picked up on Wednesday, with the regular Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday pickups happening all day on Wednesday

The Town continues to open up the roads, clear up intersections, and open up the parking areas of public buildings.

Town Hall continues to be open during regular hours – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
