The last time North Branford's unemployment rate dipped below seven percent was in August 2009 when it was 6.9 percent with it being the lowest that year in April at 6.6 percent. The average unemployment in town in 2010 was 7.8 percent. So far in 2011, the average is 7.8 percent.
These numbers put North Branford 1.3 percent less than the Connecticut unemployment rate of 8.2 percent and 1.6 percent less than the national average of 8.5 percent.
