Plenty to Do in North Branford and Northford This Weekend!

There is something for everyone happening in town this weekend.

In Abbie Walston's first-ever blog post '' she said: 

I can remember wishing that there was more to do around here, but I never wanted to replace the cows as I rather enjoyed looking at them as I drove the back roads to go see a movie in the next town over.  

This weekend, there is certainly plenty to do in town with a little something for everyone–from tag sales to getting to know in-town businesses; recycling to a breast cancer awareness event.

Giant Tag Sale

The  was rained out on Sept. 24 and was rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Tag Sale will be held in the field next to on Route 80.

Business Expo

The Totoket Business Association is hosting a  to learn more about local businessess on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the . There will be free samples, great givaways and drawings. Businesses that have already committed to this event include , CT Sportsplex, Y.E.A. LLC, Venice Bakery, Shaklee Products, Stella & Dot, , , Tutor Doctor, Eutronline, , MT Cobbler, Totoket Gallery of Frames and VIP Contacts. 

E-Waste Collection

North Branford's  will hold an on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works garage. E-Waste recycling gives residents the opportunity to properly dispose of anything that plugs in.

Bulbs for Breast Cancer

 is hosting the second annual  on Oct. 1 and 2 with workshops, games and more. Click here for a flyer with all the details. Ten percent of the retail cost of all bulbs sold that weekend and 100 percent of the money raised during the games will be donated. Breast cancer survivors will be given the gift of free bulbs. There are two free bulb planting workshops on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The games, fun and donations continue on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

In addition, there will be a 'Bosom Buddy' scarecrow building event that aims to cover the lawn and nursery yard with scarecrows to raise awareness. Natureworks will supply the hay, the support poles and a hand. You bring the clothes and the bling.

Support NBYF

A '' supporting  is Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. The $25 tickets includes lights snacks, DJ and a cash bar. There will also be a raffle.
