State Rep. Candelora Named CT Water Works Association Legislator of the Year

Press Release: State Representative Vincent Candelora named CWWA Legislator of the Year.

Rep. Vincent Candelora (R-86) received the Connecticut Water Works Association’s Legislator of the Year Award for his outstanding leadership on issues affecting Connecticut’s water resources. The Connecticut Water Works Association (CWWA) is an association of public water supply utilities that promotes state policies that assure reliable, high quality water supplies to protect the public health and safety.

“Rep. Candelora’s commitment to thoroughly understanding issues affecting the state’s water resources and the impact of laws and regulations on the quality and availability of public water supplies is deeply appreciated. His ability to weigh in on complex issues and work with stakeholders to address concerns was critical to developing more balanced stream flow regulations,” said Carlene Kulisch, CWWA Legislative Committee Officer representing the South Central CT Regional Water Authority.

“Rep. Candelora clearly recognizes the need to craft laws affecting our water supplies in ways that balance environmental protection with other critical needs - public health, safety and economic development. We applaud his efforts to protect Connecticut’s public water supplies to meet the needs of Connecticut’s citizens and businesses.”
