Town Manager Therrien's Weekly Report: Aug. 17

Bonnie Therrien, North Branford's interim town manager, shares her weekly report for the week ending Aug. 17, 2012.

North Branford's interim , , shares the weekly report for the week ending Aug. 10, 2012. Some highlights from the report include:

  • Ken Delfini continues to work on mailing out delinquent notices. He has also estimated that the July receipts for tax collection came in at 98%, whereas last year at this time we collected 98.75%. But we did have one large tax bill paid after Aug. 1, which if collected on time, would have made our tax collection rate 98.6%, so things remain rather steady from last year.
  • The State of Vermont has sent a list of CT vehicles registered in their state to each municipality in CT. We will be sending letters to the owners of these vehicles telling them that their cars/trucks, etc. must be registered in CT and they must pay taxes to our town. There were 81 vehicles listed on the North Branford list.
  • Updates on several projects inlcluding the water main extension on Cedar Lake Road, the estimated cost of renovating the press box at the (which was ) and bid results for the STW project with 12 bids ranging from $677,000 to $462,800.
