Town Manager Touches on Dog Park, Other Issues
Here are the remaining items from the Town Manager's report.
In addition to talking about some , Town Manager discussed several other items in his report at the March 6 .
Representatives from Evergreen Woods, a retirement community in North Branford, presented at a February Town Council meeting. Branigan reported that the town assessor is scheduling a meeting to visit the property with a consultant and that the Board of Assessment Appeals will also conduct a special assessment.

The town locked its fuel prices for the coming fiscal year, July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, reported Branigan. North Branford will be paying $3.41 ½ for diesel, $3.35 for heating oil and $3.37 for gasoline plus taxes.
“We’ve been playing the float for a number of years, but given the dynamic of the market, this was a chance to lock in and these numbers are right on our budget,” said Branigan. “Now we can move forward with comfort.”

While the town is on point for fuel costs at this time, North Branford is still on the float for the remainder of the 2011-12 fiscal year.

Branigan also told the Council to expect an agenda item concerning the at the next meeting, which will be on March 20. He shared a packet from North Branford Unleashed with council members to review before the next meeting.
, who has spearheaded an effort to form a dog park in North Branford, was on hand as well.
“I want to thank Richard Branigan for being so receptive for a random person coming to the town to propose this dog park,” said Hodgson. “We hope to have a lot of people to show their support at the next meeting. A lot of the information in your packet .”
