North Branford Taxes Due August 1st

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Okay, maybe not… but according to the Town of North Branford's website, "The tax bills are here, the tax bills are here!"

Taxes were due on July 1 and, if you haven't already done so, time is running out to pay your North Branford motor vehicle tax bill and the first installment for all real estate and personal property taxes. Taxes are due to be in the mail or paid in person to the by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

Cash, check and money orders are accepted at Town Hall (credit card payments are not accepted at Town Hall) or payments can be mailed to:

North Branford, CT 06471

Late payments will result in an interest charge of 1.5 percent per month from the July 1, 2012 due date. The minimum interest charge is $2. The town encourages residents who are paying late to call the Tax Collector's Office at 203-484-6011 to find out the correct amount due.

"When in doubt, just call," said Ken Delfino, North Branford's Tax Collector. "It makes it easier for everyone."

There will be no mailing for the second installment of the real estate and personal property tax bills. Both payment coupons were included in the bill mailed in June.
