North Branford Patch: What's new in North Branford schools?
Superintendent Scott Schoonmaker: NBHS is the recipient of a $10,000 award from a contest in which a student nominated one our teachers in the "Here Comes the Boom Contest."  Funds will be used for extra-curricular activities and clubs. Thank you to and the Patch for promoting this contest.

North Branford Patch: What's something residents need to know?
Schoonmaker: Residents need to know that NBIS is designated as the Emergency Town Shelter – the sign on Route 80 will indicate the hours of operation and any other pertinent information. Hopefully we will not need to use this any time soon.
