Meet Ryan Proto, Essayist of NBHS's Class of 2013

Ryan Proto, the essayist of North Branford High School's Class of 2013, gives a glimpse at how he achieved his success!

As we count down to graduation on Tuesday, June 25 for North Branford High School's Class of 2013, we're taking some time to get to know some of the top students of the graduating class

Today, meet Ryan Proto, the essayist of the Class of 2013, who shares his future plans, activities and keys to his success.

What activities were you involved in throughout high school? Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track (Captain for all three), Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout)

What was your favorite subject? Mathematics

Who was your favorite/most influential teacher?
 Mr. Joly

What are your future plans?
Be an officer in the Army, considering a career.

What is the key to your success? I take pride in my work: if I am to do something, it would be a reflection of myself, so it motivates me to be the best in whatever I do.

Is there anyone you would like to thank? All of my teachers: It takes a special type of person to be a teacher and teaching is one of the most respectable professions. And, of course, my parents, who also both happen to be teachers. They've brought me up with strong morals and a strong faith.

What will you miss about NBHS? I'm going miss running track, especially with my 4x400 brothers: Shelby Franklin, Alex Raffone, Gary Falanga and Matt  Edwards and our alternate Bryce Mase.
