Congratulations to Angela DiLella, an Eastern Connecticut State University student, on an honor society induction!

Eastern Connecticut State University's Department of English recently inducted students into the Sigma Tau Delta international English honor society.

Angela DiLella '14 of Northford, CT, was one of the inductees.

The minimum requirements for membership in the Eastern Alpha Epsilon Delta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta includes a declared major in English; a minimum of four courses in the major at 200-level or above completed at Eastern; a minimum of 3.5 GPA in the English major; and a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Each semester, English department faculty consider a list of students meeting the requirements and nominate those whose "intellectual ability, coursework and character are deemed worthy of this special distinction." Students are only invited to join Sigma Tau Delta when they are nominated by two faculty members.

There are many benefits that members of Sigma Tau Delta receive including opportunities to compete for several scholarships and awards, the ability to submit papers for publication in Sigma Tau Delta publications, and the opportunity to apply for internships through the Washington Internship Institute.
