Tempus Sugit Gives Big to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation

Charity: The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation

According to its website, the New York City-based Parkinson’s Disease Foundation “is a leading national presence in Parkinson’s disease research, education and public advocacy.”

Tempus Sugit chose the charity in honor of Grunbeck’s family as her grandpa had Parkinson’s disease and her grandma has since become interested in the charity.

“We wanted to do it as a tribute to her grandma’s passion and a tribute to her grandpa,” said Sagnella.

The team has several fundraisers in the works and awaiting approval, including a locker decorating fundraiser for Valentine’s Day and possibly a charity walk.

Tempus Sugit was involved in ’s first in 2010 and raised about $100 for the Save the Music Foundation.

“Our goal is much higher this year,” said Sagnella. “We definitely at least want to double or triple what we raised sophomore year.”

Sagnella also said they would be contacting local businesses for donations as well. She and her teammates are excited to be involved in their second Big Give.

“It’s great to see all of the teams working toward each team’s different goal and to creatively find ways to multiply our dollar,” she said. “To see the entire school community come together and donate to such a wide variety of charities feels pretty good.”
