Behind the play of Bella Hills, Mesa Caco, Hanna Senerchia, Mia DeLoughery and Erica Piercey, North Branford defeated Monroe 9-6 Sunday in Darien to advance to the 9-10 state Little League Softball Tournament semifinals.
North Branford, 9-1 in post season all-star play, won the District 4 title recently with a win over East Haven and now goes on to play Seymour Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. at Darien High School for the right to meet the winner of Wednesday’s other game, Madison/Clinton vs. South Windsor.
Wednesday’s sectional winners will meet this weekend in a best-of-three series in Seymour for the state 9-10 Little League softball title.
