North Branford Girls' Soccer Advances to Second Round of States

The T-Birds took a 1-0 win over Enfield on a rainy afternoon.

The North Branford girls' soccer team bounced back from a to take a 1-0 win over 18th-seeded Enfield on a rainy Nov. 10 afternoon.

The No. 15 T-Birds hosted Enfield and outshout their guests 10-3. North Branford's Stephanie Torniero notched three saves and a shutout in the  

North Branford's goal came six minutes before halftime on a shot from Kelly Kennedy in the corner that challenged Enfield's goalkeeper. Emmy Dualk was in position to knock home the rebound, which held up as the game-winner.

The T-Birds, now 12-6-2, move on to the second round where they will travel to second-seeded Granby Memorial on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. Granby Memorial (14-0-1) had a bye in the first round.
