"Color Your World" with North Branford School's Summer Camps

Have you thought about summer camp yet? North Branford Public Schools has you "colored" with its "Color Your World" program.

North Branford Public Schools summer camp returns for its 12th year with the 2013 theme being "Color Your World." Lauren Barry, a 1st-grade teacher at Jerome Harrison Elementary School returns as camp director.

"Each year she brings a spark to the summer program that leads our fantastic staff to provide our children with an amazing camp experience," said Superintendent Scott Schoonmaker in the camp brochure. "I am looking forward to another wonderful summer under her leadership!"

Barry is excited to resume her role and continue working with students in grades 1 to 8.

"Our camp is special because much of our staff is made up of certified
teachers and/or professionals in the school system," said Barry. "There are so many different options every week that there is truly something to meet every
child's interest. It's really wonderful because the children have fun and
learn new skills at the same time!"

The camp day is split into two sections – enrichment camps in the morning and afternoon recreation from noon to 4 p.m. Before-care (7-9 a.m.) and after-care (4-6 p.m.) are also available.

Campers can combine these different options to create the ideal day for them, choosing from a variety of themes. Field trips will correspond with the program's theme for the week.

For example, Fishing Camp will travel to various fishing holes, Sports Camp will travel to play golf and the popular Wet and Wild Camp will travel to different amusement parks for a week. During the first and last week of the summer, campers will travel to Quassy Amusement Park.

The camp is held at Totoket Valley Elementary School. Campers can bring their own lunch or buy lunch from our hot lunch program as well. The costs vary depending upon programs chosen. Register on the North Branford Public Schools' website

"They are exposed to so many amazing opportunities that they just have an
absolute blast," said Barry. "It's great to see kids being happy to just be kids!!
Many of our campers return every year so we get to watch them grow up.
It's really amazing."
