Most politicians are showing the public that they are complete idiots just there for a life time paycheck and free benefits.

yes, yes, yes, too damn loud. Legislation? Crazy! sound police? How about a voluntary adjustment? don't let the ear bud kids set the volume, they already are hearing impaired.

Nonoise, .. it's the numbing of America. People can't be allowed to just "be" in quiet, to think their own thoughts anymore. They have to have constant stimulation. Audio or frenetc TV blaring constantly. I saw an old movie the other night. What a pleasure! You could actually become immersed in the scenes/story, thinking and feeling . It wasn't a blur of split second images flashing by. And people wonder why our kids suffer from ADD! It's actually painful to try and watch TV anymore. For instance those HGTV shows go to all the trouble of remodeling a house, then give you less than a second a scene to absorb or think about the beauty they've created. It's insane.

ER, you are absolutely correct. And, people no longer have any respect for someone's peace and quiet.

Good timing for us: We just went to SV Cinelux Theater to see The Monuments Men. We got their 30 mins. early to be sure we did not have to sit in the front row. (Last week we had to get a refund, for all the seats left were front row.) We wanted to enjoy some conversation with our friends while we waited, but NO WAY to do this! The ads were incredibly LOUD and annoying. Then when the show began it was WAY TOO LOUD! In the past I have had to ask the management to turn the volume down, but this time didn't want to miss the show. The room was small, so no need for this intensity, folks! So, here's my chance to vent on this topic! Please see that the Theater managers get this. Thanks!
