Introducing Vista's Latest Supporting Sponsor: Chamard Vineyards

Last year, Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center launched a Corporate Community Partner Sponsorship Program, involving Leading and Supporting sponsors. Depending on the level of a particular company’s contributions to Vista, they receive benefits including advertisement in Vista’s eNewsletters, recognition on Vista’s website, Facebook page and in Vista’s Annual Report. Vista’s is proud to introduce their latest Supporting Sponsor, Chamard Vineyards.

Established in 1983 by William Chaney, CEO Tiffany & Co, Chamard Vineyards, is one of the Connecticut Wine Trails founding fathers. Tucked between the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, Chamard enjoys a unique marine micro-climate ideal for growing European Vinifera vines such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir. To produce “French Inspired Wines from the Connecticut Shoreline” has been the Chamard mission from the start earning the brand “Best Connecticut Wine” for twelve consecutive years. Dr. Jonathan Rothberg set his sights on making Chamard a premier shoreline destination when he acquired the vineyard in 2005. The addition of the Bistro in 2012 completes the experience. As a farm, Chamard honors agriculture by partnering with fellow growers and producers to pair food with wine in celebration of Connecticut’s local gastronomy.

Chamard Vineyards has been an integral part of a number of Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center’s events and business ventures. Chamard produces and sells Vista Vines, Vista’s own brand of wine that showcases labels created by Vista Arts Center students. Chamard also partnered with Vista to sell Vista Vines as part of a special holiday offer. Chamard graciously hosted the after-party for the 2013 WALK For Vista, one of Vista’s annual fundraising events. Most recently, Chamard was home to the Vista Arts Center’s Art Show, a display of works by Vista students and members. Bridget Riordan, Director of Sales and Brand Management at Chamard, adds, “Our partnership with Vista marks a mile stone in the progress we’ve made towards our goal of making Chamard a shoreline destination. I knew this when [Vista’s Director of Organizational Development] Tod Van Kirk called, not to ask for a donation of wine, but to discuss ideas on how we could work together. We are proud to be part of the great work that the Vista organization does and look forward to continuing our partnership.” As the relationship evolves, Chamard Vineyards and Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center continue to initiate new methods of supporting each other through this partnership.
