Budget Referendum Is Tuesday and More North Branford Events This Week

This week, North Branford residents can vote on the budget, cheer on the T-Birds, register for Matt's Mission and more.


Here are five things to know about the coming week in North Branford. For a full list of stuff to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Budget Referendum: On Tuesday, May 14, registered voters can vote on the proposed $48.6M budget, responding to the question: "Shall the Town Council Recommended Budget of $48,669,961, which will require a mill rate of 29.10 mills, be adopted?" in the budget referendum with voting from noon to 8 p.m.

2. NBHS Sports: The North Branford T-Birds continue their spring seasons with homes contests for golf, girls' lacrosse, baseball, outdoor track and softball. For their full schedule, check out the CIAC's website. 

3. North Branford Town Meetings for the week include the the Permanent Project Building Committee and Board of Education/Town Council Communications Sub-Committee on Monday, May 13 and the Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, May 16. 

4. Register for Matt's Mission 5K: Matt's Mission 5K is Sunday, May 19 and registration is underway. Will you be running or walking? 

5. Honor Them with a Flag: The North Branford Women’s Club, Inc. GFWC/CT is sponsoring an Honor Them With a Flag fundraising event as a salute to our country’s military personnel and veterans or a loved one. Flags are available for purchase and will be displayed in front of Town Hall through Memorial Day.
