You Live And You Learn

Its funny living in North Branford, you often take its advantages for granted. Growing up, I found myself referring to my hometown as a “teenage wasteland” and my very own “misfit island” but the truth is there’s something comforting about living here, and there always has been. The older you get, the more of an appreciation you develop for the little things, and that’s exactly what North Branford has to offer. I was so quick to judge my town and the people who populated it rather then myself, I had some false expectation that maybe if I left somehow I’d be different. I was wrong, no matter where I went I was still the same girl. North Branford has its moments, like for me it was when I was walking aimlessly through the North Farms trails and came across the bridge in which I decided to meditate on for two hours until I found my spirit animal. It’s the fact that you’ve grown up with these people. Everyone knows you by nickname, that one spot in town that smells like cow dung. Its repetitive you know, you always know what you’re going to get, it’s the same people, the same small town, the same nice house, the same everything, but it’s beautiful in a way.
