Economic Development Commission

<p>The North Branford Economic Development Commission, which meets regularly at town hall, strives to create a friendly business climate while retaining the character of the town by advising policy makers and partnering with other agencies to promote business expansion and retention.</p> <p>It facilitates a tax abatement program, through which new businesses can pay scheduled, reduced tax rates temporarily, and a facade improvement program, through which the town grants financial assistance to businesses in targeted areas in need of a face-lift. Members of the five-member commission are appointed by the town council to five-year terms. The commission has no permanent offices.</p>
