I disagree with Mr. Rogers. The service and attention at Poppy's is one of the reasons I go there. I am addressed by name, my family is inquired upon, I can ask for any "accessory" condiments I want, and usually get extra, the newspaper is there to read anytime, and "Poppy" makes the best cheese asparagus omelet ever. Heck, they'll even keep your private coffee mug handy for you. My only complaint is that they close too early! Perhaps if more residents would support their local business instead of, say, franchises, we could get them to stay open till 3! Love you guys!

First of all, you seem to have every business in Central plaza as being in East Haven. Poppys and all of the remaining stores are part of North Branford. 06471.

Poppys is as advertised. Small, fun and a place where the locals go to grab a bite and socialize. Almost like the towns version of "Cheers". Food is made to order and reasonably priced. If there is one area to improve upon, one trait of the place that has made me go elsewhere on many occasions, it may be the service. I've never been to a restaurant that lets you "use" the condiments or spices for only a short period of time before the waitress comes over to whisk it away for another tables use. They seem to only have one quart of milk, one bottle of maple syrup and 7 packages of sugar to be shared among all the customers. Rather than invest in individual containers for each table, they plop a carton of milk on your table, and if you dont use it quick enough, you'll be drinking black coffee as the waitress has come to take it from you for use elsewhere. Of course thats assuming that someone has remembered to come and ask if you need anything. A common practice seems to be customers wait a long time at their table before taking matters in to their own hands before going up to ask for the check. Too bad because the food is good and I would patronize more often if I felt my business was appreciated.
