Jessica Simmons, Neighbor

Hello! My name is Jessica Simmons. I live in North Branford, and have been a North Branford resident for most of my life. I graduated from North Branford High School in 2006 and went on to major in mental health psychology at SCSU. I am currently working in research at Yale School of Medicine, in the Department of Psychiatry and plan on going to graduate school within the next few years.  

In my spare time, I enjoy reaching out to individuals throughout the world who have either experienced bullying or have started their own anti-bullying initiatives online or in their communities. With permission, I share their stories on my website, MyKindnessCounts.com. The purpose of sharing these stories is to encourage and inspire people to take a stand aganist bullying. My feeling is that by sharing our personal experiences with bullying, we may be able to create a network of ideas about the best possible ways to combat bullying behavior in our schools, workplaces, and communities.
