Central Plaza to Be Paved!

While residents seem excited about new businesses coming into Central Plaza – including Sunny Nails & Spa and Yolokiss – many expressed frustration with the state of the plaza, particularly the parking lot.

"My vehicle has hit several potholes in this lot in the last few years. Including a flat tire there," posted James Dwyer in the comments. "The owner doesn't care about maintenance of his parking lot, I have spoken to the last two town managers concerning this problem."

Other readers said the state of the plaza puts them off from the shops there as Bunker said, "I don't care what stores they put in there as long as it looks like a disaster area i won't be frequenting the place."

Denise George agreed, noting "That place could be jumpin' if someone would just take some time to fix it up!"

Good news, North Branford! Mayor Anthony Candelora touched base with the property management company, JSMN Properties based out of New Jersey, about the future of the town's center and possible improvements.

"He has plans to pave the parking lot," said Candelora. "This is very exciting for our town, for the businesses there now and for bringing new businesses in."

While there isn't a definite timeline for the paving set in stone yet, Candelora will be meeting with the property manager in the coming weeks to further discuss the plans.
