North Branford Women’s Club Seeking New Members

The North Branford Women’s Club, Inc. (NBWC) was founded in 1960 as a result of interest in the North Branford Welcome Wagon activities.  In an effort to extend our commitment beyond the local community, a Certificate of Membership into the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) was received on February 9th, 1961.  GFWC is one of the world's largest and oldest women's volunteer service organizations.  It works locally through thousands of clubs in the United States and globally in more than 20 countries to support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.  Hence, our motto is:  “What one person cannot do alone, can be accomplished by group cooperation.”

Our club meets from September thru May generally on the second Tuesday of each month at St. Augustine Church Hall at 30 Caputo Road in North Branford.  It begins with a business meeting, followed by a guest speaker and refreshments.  Some program topics have been:  “How to Get Rid of Clutter”, “Women’s Heart & Health”, “Restaurant Reviews”, Game Nite, “Gardening” at Van Wilgen’s.  The Club has approximately 40 members from North Branford, Guilford, Branford, Northford and Madison.
