Hi Deirdre- there really isnt a "bad" spot because the route isn't that long. Typically weRead More park at TVES or STW and then watch from just about anywhere in town. The nice part about parking at the schools is that you can leave afterward with very little traffic and congestion.

You make a great point about the televised meetings. Another great tool, if schedules don't permitRead More you to attend is a link on the Board of Ed site that allows you to email the Board with any questions or concerns. The links, the meeting times, the decisions, are all things I wish the current board would communicate. They have their website which lists details, but it takes seconds to start a blog on the Patch. It's a simply, yet effective, way to communicate with the public.

As a retired N.B. school teacher, I used to videotape the Board of Education meetings for theRead More Superintendent Bob Wolfe at TVES before Scott Schoonmaker became our latest superintendent of the North Branford School System. Back in 2006, I was shocked to see how many residents would show up to support the educational budget. I could count them sometimes on one hand. The N.B. administrators would outnumber them 3-1 in attendance at some board meetings. However, when the budget was affecting their child in school, I would have to help set up extra chairs in the library at Totoket Valley to accommodate the large turnout. The residents of North Branford are very fortunate to be able to view the educational budget on town access Channel 20 today because this is the 21st Century. We are very lucky to be able to watch our Board of Education meetings in the warmth of our homes. However, more people need to attend these meetings monthly when they can get involved in their local town educational budget. When it is time to vote in a referendum, we need Representation!
