Great Season North Branford Hockey Team!!!

North Branford Hockey team finished the season with a 14-8-1 record. The entire team had an excellent season!! It seems like not long ago I was attending the first game on December 12th against Milford and now the season has sadly come to an end. I am going to tremendously miss attending all the games. I would like to thank my father for driving me to most of the games this season especially to Canterbury twice!

The T-Birds had big victories overr Milford Co-op, Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth, and the T-Birds had an 8 game win streak this season with victories over NFA/St.Bernard,Sheehan,Fairfield/Warde/Ludlowe,Trumbull,Hand, Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks, Tri-Town, and Hall/Southington.

Upon entering the state tournament the T-Birds had a record of 12-7-1 and were the 9th seed in the tournament bracket. The first round of the tournament the 9th seed T-Birds earned a victory over the 8th seed New Milford 3-0. The T-Birds then moved onto the quarterfinals of the tournament and played the 17th seed Newtown and came out with a 5-1 victory! Next up for the T-Birds was the semifinals at Ingalls Rink against Fairfield/Warde/Ludlowe, the T-Birds lost 1-3. 

Stat leaders for the season are Dylan Podbielski with 15 goals and 25 assists, Alec Martone had 20 goals and 19 assists, Nik Castaldi had 10 goals and 13 assists, and Nick Johnson had 5 goals and 9 assists! 

Goalie Kyle Saroka had an excellent season and many great saves!!

The seniors Kris Marra, Kyle Saroka, Dylan Podbielski, and Nik Castaldi will be greatly missed.

I would like to congratulate the entire team on a very successful season!!!!
