My daughter ordered her prom boutonniere for her date from Petals 2 Go. She went in several weeks prior and had a consultation with an enthusiastic salesperson. She brought in fabric samples of her two-tone gown and they discussed ordering a special two-tone rose. If that rose was not available, they were going to order a shade close to one of the colors of her gown. When she went to pick-up her order and they handed her a white rose with a pink ribbon. She was shocked and, being young, didn’t know to complain and paid her $15 and left. When she got home she called me in tears and is extremely disappointed. I called the florist to complain. All they could say was that they got limited colors in due to Mother’s Day and they could redo her boutonniere in ivory or yellow. I told her that she went to a florist to get something special and could have gotten a white rose with a pink ribbon at Big Y or Stop & Shop. My family will not be using this florist again. I feel they should have contacted her when they knew her flowers were not available and offered her alternate colors. She could have found another florist to make her special order. There were also special instructions for the corsage to match the boutonniere….which also ended up being white roses. Imagine if this was for a wedding in not a prom??
