Man Barricades Self, 300 Grams of Narcs In House, SWAT On Scene (VIDEO)

A man remains barricaded in his brother's 222 Totoket Road home after three family members exited the house when police arrived, Police Chief Matthew Canelli said.

Canelli said the man is armed and has more than 300 grams of narcotics with him.

Frank Annette, 34, is wanted on narcotic trafficking and firearm charges. His last known address is in Burlington, Vt.

"He has some serious time hanging over his head," Canelli said. "You don't know what he's going to do."

Two Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm federal agents, six state troopers, two U.S. marshals and a team of 14 SWAT members are on the scene, which started at around 1:30 p.m., Canelli said.

Deputy Police Chief Michael Doody said there are two federal warrants out for Annette's arrest: one for narcotics distribution and possession of a firearm while trafficking narcotics, which was issued last September in Burlington, Vt.; and one for conspiracy to distribute cocaine-based crack and narcotics.

As of 5:30 p.m., Canelli said attempts to communicate with Annette via a loud speaker had failed.

At 6 p.m., WTNH reported that a flash bang explosive device was thrown into the Totoket Road home. However, there was no response from within.

Canelli said the SWAT team usually waits about four hours before making any moves into a house.    

A reverse 911 call was sent out to all homeowners within a 2-mile radius of the barricade.
