Town: North Branford Tax Bills Due This Month

A press release from the Town of North Branford: 

The tax bills for the October 1, 2012 Grand List are out! If you did not receive a bill (for a vehicle, home or business that you owned as of October 1, 2012), please call the Tax Department at 203-484-6011.

You have the entire month of July to pay the bills without penalty or interest.  Payments made, or postmarked after August 1, 2013 will be considered delinquent.  Interest will accrue at a rate of 1½% per month from the due date of the bill.
 
The Town of North Branford has made this process easier and more convenient.  As in the past, taxpayers have the ability to use credit/debit cards to pay their bills.  Click here to access that service.  Please be advised that there is a fee of 3% added to the total of your your tax bills that you are paying to use this service.   If you have delinquent taxes you are currently not able to utilize the debit/credit card system.
 
New this year is the ability to view multiple years of tax information and the convenience of using your existing checking account (known as ACH payments) to pay your tax bills.  Click here to access that service.  Please be advised that the fee to use this service is only $1 (regardless of how many bills you pay) - just slightly more than the cost of the stamp to mail it in!  If you have delinquent taxes, there will be additional steps you will need to do to be make payments.  Per state statutes, payments will be applied to the oldest outstanding tax.
