3 Questions for the Hazardous Waste & Recycling Committee: June 2013

North Branford's HazWaste & Recycling Committee on volunteers, ending monthly recycling program in the fall and cicadas.

North Branford Patch: What's new in your department?
North Branford Hazardous Waste & Recycling Committee (NBHWRC): An invitation – consider joining North Branford’s Hazardous Waste/Recycling Committee to help make a difference in your community all year long. Dedicated, creative and environmentally friendly volunteers are needed. Make a big difference with just a little of your time. Meetings take place in the Town Manager's Conference Room at the Town Hall second Thursday of every month (except August) at 7:30 p.m. Interested parties please contact Town Manager’s Office at 203-484-6000

North Branford Patch: What's something residents should know?
NBHWRC: The monthly recycling services at the North Branford Recycling Center will be discontinued after the Sept. 7 Monthly Recycling event. Cell phones, empty propane & helium tanks and rechargeable batteries will be collected at our quarterly e-waste events at the same location. As a reminder, shredded paper can be put at the curb in the recycling tote.

North Branford Patch: What's your favorite thing about summer?
NBHWRC: This summer, it’s the amazing (and sometimes with an incredible racket) cicada emergence in parts of our town.
