Originally not slated to open until May, the Rose family of decided to open a few weeks early. With some college employees ready to get back to work and the family getting the craving for pies and soft-serve ice cream, Rose Orchards kicked off the last Saturday, April 9.
Another factor in pushing up the date was thanks to Mother Nature. The homegrown cucumbers and lettuces were ready ahead of schedule in the farm's greenhouse.
In addition to the native vegetables, Rose's has other produce as well, in addition to pies, cookies and, of course, soft-serve ice cream. Outside of the farm market, customers can visit the animals and take in the sights of the farm.
