110 grams of marijuana seized after a Guilford teen is arrested in North Branford.

A 17-year-old Guilford male was arrested on April 11 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and illegal sale and distribution of marijuana.

Upon being questioned, the Guilford High School student told officers he sells marijuana at his school, saying he has been doing so for the last five months, selling approximately four ounces every two weeks.

The teen was arrested after North Branford Police Officer Sean Anderson spotted two cars on Ciro Road, a dead end that is primarily commercial, at 10 p.m. The vehicles were parked next to each other and occupied by two males.

As Anderson approached the vehicles, he could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicles. After asking the occupants to exit, he saw a clear Ziploc baggie inside one of the vehicles containing a green plant-like substance.

Further investigation revealed four Ziploc baggies containing marijuana, loose marijuana on a digital scale and packaging materials. A total of 110 grams of marijuana was seized with an approximate street value of $2,000. The Guilford teen was released with an April 25 court date.
