North Branford Shooting Victim in "Fair" Condition

The 72-year-old victim in Saturday night's shooting on Brook Lane is listed in "fair condition," while two others are dead.

A quiet North Branford neighborhood is reeling after a triple shooting on . The  confirmed that a woman and her boyfriend are dead and the woman's father was shot in the abdomen.

The names of all three involved have not been officially confirmed by police but town tax records list Richard and Jean Fletcher as the owners of 55 Brook Lane.

"My mom moved here from New Haven when we were little to get away from this stuff," said Chris Baiocchi, who grew up on Brook Lane. "She wanted to move us somewhere safe and to have a homicide happen on your street is uncomfortable, it really doesn’t make you feel secure."

The 72-year-old father was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is now listed in fair condition, according to hospital officials.

Neighbors–including Deborah DelToro, who lives kitty-corner to the Fletcher's and Tim Shortt, who was on his back deck at the time of the incident–reported hearing nothing on the night of the incident. DelToro also expressed concern and sadness, particularly for the children involved.

The Connecticut State Police are now handling the investigation.

Patch will update the story as more details become available.
