Police: North Branford Driver Crashes Rare Car While Speeding in Durham

A North Branford man was issued a speeding ticket after slamming a rare sports car into a tree in Durham last week, according to police.

Michael A. Capasso, of 22 County Road, North Branford, was driving a 2006 Ford GT northbound along Route 77 when he lost control and crashed just south of Creamery Road. The crash happened just before 10 p.m.

Capasso was not injured, however his passenger, Michael Branwell, 54, of Guilford, was transported to Middlesex Hospital.

The vehicle was registered to High Performance Development LLC of Montana with license plates 220MPH. 

The Ford GT is considered a rare sports car and is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. The vehicle's original sticker price of $139,999 has reached as much as $557,000, according to Wikipedia.
