Two Charged in Copper Pipe and Wiring Theft in North Branford

A report of a suspicious vehicle last night led to the arrest of two individuals who had allegedly just committed a burglary in an unoccupied home.

Late last night, the North Branford Police Department received a call about an unoccupied suspicious car on Williams Road. An NBPD press release stated that after confirming the vehicle was not stolen, the officers kept it under surveillance and observed two males exit a nearby wooded area carrying a large gym type bag and getting into the vehicle.

Officer Thomas Pacelli stopped the pair and, after a brief investigation, determined that the two had just committed a burglary at a home located nearby at 77 Foxon Road. The pair had forced entry into the home and had stripped it of copper pipes and wiring. The home was not occupied at the time of the incident.

Joshua Sabetta, 25, and Kyle Gildersleeve, 21, both of North Branford, were charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny.
