North Branford Patch: What’s new in the Town of North Branford?
Bonnie Therrien: The staff is overseeing a lot of capital projects that we are trying to get done before the snow flies. This would include Swajchuk Park, road paving, Chidsey Drive and drainage projects. Work has begun on the renovation of Stanley T. Williams to a new Community Center, which will be ongoing all winter.
North Branford Patch: What’s something residents should know?
Bonnie Therrien: After Storm Sandy, we were told that the phone calls we made to residents who signed up for our automatic call list was very helpful to people on knowing services the Town was offering to taxpayers, such as where the shelter was located; road closures; and electrical updates. If you have not signed up for the North Branford Emergency Notification System, please do so now, before another storm hits us. You may sign up through the Town’s website or update your information on the CT Alert System (www.ct.gov/ctalert) and our system will be updated at the same time.
North Branford Patch: What are you thankful for?
Bonnie Therrien: I am thankful for family and friends, a roof on our house and the simple things in life that we take for granted. With the devastating effects to so many due to Storm Sandy, all of us should be thankful for all of those simple things that so many people do not have this Thanksgiving season.
