The Connecticut Department of Transportation will conduct a Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed replacement of Bridge No. 1127, Route 80 (Foxon Road) over Farm River on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the North Branford Town Hall.
An informal question and answer session will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a formal design presentation at 7:00 p.m.The project is identified as State Project No. 98-101.
The primary purpose of this project is to replace the structurally deficient Bridge No. 1127, which carries Route 80 (Foxon Road) over the Farm River.
The proposed project consists of the design of a new bridge to replace the existing,including east and west approach roadway improvements. The new structure will be wider to accommodate a two-stage construction scheme while maintaining an alternating one-way signalized traffic control system.
Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2015 and be completed in a one-year construction season. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $3 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with State and Federal funds.
The Public Information Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.

Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review (attached as PDF. Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.
