North Branford town manager Mike Paulhus shares the weekly report for the weeks ending June 21 and 28, 2013.

Some highlights from the June 21 report include:

  • The Town Council approved the request by Fire Chief Seward to purchase equipment for the new fire truck which will make it a state-of-the-art piece of fire equipment.
  • The Town Council approved an abatement for Engineering Specialties, Inc., for the installation of solar-powered system which will be the largest in town to date. 
  • The EDC met to discuss progress on the Charette, planned for September.
Some highlights from the June 21 report include:
  • Town officers will be closed on Thursday, July 4.
  • Town Council is on a summer meeting schedule with meetings on July 9 and Aug. 13.
  • Discussions between the fire chief, DOT and contractor are ongoing with respect to implementing a mitigation strategy for Co. 1 and the access of personnel and apparatus getting in and out of their location.

Paulhus was named North Branford's new town manager on March 26, 2013, taking over for Bonnie Therrien, who was named North Branford's interim town manager at the July 10 Town Council meeting after the town made an "amicable split" with former town manager Richard Branigan.
