T-Birds' Track Competes in New Haven Qualifier Meets

Several members of North Branford's indoor track teams found success at recent New Haven qualifier meets.

 

The North Branford High School indoor track teams competed at the New Haven Qualifier One Meet on Dec. 21 and the New Haven Qualifier Two Meet on Dec. 22 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. Entry to the meet was based on meeting State qualification standards.   

In the New Haven Qualifier One Meet, Rocco Morgan placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 42-0. Emmy Dulak placed eighth in the 600 meters at 1:44.14. Rachel Sokoloff was 12 in the 55-meter hurdles at 10.44. For the boys in the 600, Matt Edwards placed eighth at 1.29.2, Ryan Proto placed 12th at 1.31.73 and Alex Raffone placed 15th at 1.32.15.

The 300-meter run was the only event entered in the New Haven Qualifier Two Meet for the North Branford team. For the girls, Dulak finished 12th (44.65) and Sokoloff placed 39th (47.88). For the boys, Edwards finished fourth (37.37), Alex Raffone placed ninth (37.97) and Gary Falanga placed 16th (38.48).
